Full range of quantity surveying services including initial estimating, cost planning, advice on contract procurement, preparation of tender documentation (employer's requirements/bills of quantities/specifications), valuing work in progress, negotiating and agreeing final costs, claims advice and adjudication.

We have handled over 20 contracts in recent years ranging in value from £100,000 to £17million.

 
 

  • Advising developers/owner occupiers who wish to procure work on a Contractor Design + Build basis, advising on formal conditions of contract, monitoring work undertaken on site, certifying amounts of interim payments and agreeing amounts of any post-contract changes and claims.
 
 

  • Acting on behalf of employer as planning supervisor under the CDM Regulations on new buildings and refurbishment projects (we have already acted on upwards of 30 of these since the Regulations came into force three years ago on projects up to £6million in value - not that size is a problem) and offer very competitive fees.
 
 

  • Acting as client's project manager on construction contracts (we have acted on projects up to £3million).
 
 

  • On any contractual disputes under construction contracts and in assessing quantum in connection with insurance and professional negligence claims.
 
 

  • Valuation of replacement cost of existing buildings for insurance, current cost accounting and other purposes.
  • Preparation of claims for reinstatement of loss to buildings and negotiation with insurer's loss adjusters.
 
 

  • Analysis of costs of new buildings to determine the value of plant and machinery of tax allowance purposes (NB The legal definition of plant and machinery includes items and components which form a significant part of new buildings).
 
 

  • Vetting contract documentation and agreeing on behalf of the Fund (the lender) the amounts the borrower is entitled to draw down under the funding agreement, usually at monthly intervals, whilst work on site is underway.
